Brunch Amongst Bowood

If you were to ask me what an ideal day would look like it will always involve a lovely meal outside amongst the flowers and singing birds. Add to that, joyous people, good food, cool weather, and a beautiful table, and I am in bliss. To highlight a few pieces from my first collection, the Bowood linen suite, I wanted to create my ideal al fresco tablescape. I chose to my favorite place in the garden to set my table, where even on a warm Florida day it feels like I've traveled to Europe, amongst brick beds and white roses. To be in keeping with the surroundings and preserve the European feel, I used a serene palette of creams, whites, and aquas along with warm earth tones to complement the pattern and ground the tablescape.

The Bowood placemats and dinner napkins are the focal point of my table. To highlight their floral print, I chose a simple cream linen tablecloth. Having the tablecloth set, I layered on the Bowood placemats and placed my favorite Sabre set in ivory. I love to keep everything I design complimentary and cohesive so I searched for the perfect plates to match the aqua tone found in the leaves of the Bowood flowers. The Ginori x Cabana plates I found were exactly what I had in mind for this feminine setting. I added the plates and chose to place the Bowood dinner napkins on top of them. Putting the napkin atop the plates kept the Bowood pattern as a focal of the setting. In keeping with the European feel I used a french style glass to finish off my place settings. I wanted to keep the center of my table earthy so I placed a lively daisy in my favorite Berg Potter pot and placed it in the center. The warm pot nodded back to the warmth of the Bowood leaves and brought the whole setting together.

I chose to lay a brunch setting with the linens from my collection but they are fitting for any time of day or occasion. I believe you do not need a special occasion to use something that brings you joy, using something you love makes every occasion special.
